Communities In Schools of Houston works alongside the City of Houston Mayor’s Office of Education and other community partners to support children in their times of need, and we’re proud to celebrate World Children’s Day on this day—Nov. 20—and support the UNICEF Child Friendly Cities Initiative in Houston.

CIS of Houston works to proactively identify and support students who may be trying to work through issues on their own, and we help students build relationships and skills to prepare them for challenges they may face in and out of the classroom.

Whether a child needs mental health counseling, school supplies, or safe place to live, CIS is in schools and beyond, supporting and helping comfort hundreds of thousands of students and families across the Houston area.
