CIS, Comp-U-Dopt attack digital divide in Houston
Communities In Schools of Houston teamed up with Comp-U-Dopt to distribute computers needed for virtual school work to students in Spring Branch Independent School District.
“In this day and age, not having a computer can set you back. Having access to a computer is huge for our students and families. It’s a big need,” CIS of Houston Student Support Manager Amy Oxener told the Houston Chronicle’s Memorial Examiner newspaper.
“CIS provided a list of families in need and Comp-U-Dopt got to work, distributing around 300 computers a day,” the Examiner reports.
