HK Student Support Specialist (Part-Time)

Reports to: Student Support Manager
General Description:
The Houston Kids CIS Student Support Specialist provides referrals and coordinates on-site social services afterschool at one of three Alief ISD campus locations (Bush Elementary, Sneed Elementary and Youngblood Intermediate School).
Duties/Responsibilities:
Provides referrals and coordinates on-site social services as needed for approximately 200 students and their families on elementary school campuses or 60 students and their families on the intermediate school campus.
Document all program services, collect data and produce statistical reports as necessary for project reporting and evaluation.
Administer surveys and/or other evaluation tools as necessary for project evaluation purposes.
Coordinate with other Houston Kids project partners to ensure effective overall service delivery and achievement of project objectives.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Educational Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Sciences or Social Work required.
Minimum Experience Requirements:
Two years of related work experience is required.
Required Knowledge & Skills:
Valid Texas Driver License.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work with multiple levels of supervision within CIS and the campus.
Experience working with youth, preferably in a school setting.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to meet short- and long-term deadlines.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
Preference will be given to applicants with specific skill sets as requested by campus assigned principal i.e. bilingual, trilingual, and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal/external community.
Compensation and Benefits:
Base Pay: Starting at $25/hour
Additional Pay: Applicable Pro-rated Bilingual Stipend (based on regular weekly hours)
Other Pay: Business Mileage Reimbursement
